A Message from Our President

On behalf of The Junior League of Cobb-Marietta, I welcome you to
our website. I am honored to serve as the 2008-2009 President of an
organization that is committed to women’s leadership, voluntarism
and improving the community. Founded in 1933, the Junior League of
    Cobb-Marietta is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization of women who
have been a leading force in improving the lives of women, children
and families in Cobb County. As a member of the Association of
Junior Leagues International, we are part of an impressive and
prestigious collaboration of women leaders serving 293 communities
and spanning a collective history more than 100 years.

Our 75th anniversary is our Diamond anniversary. The Junior League of Cobb-Marietta- the diamond. We’
re “A cut above the rest.” We will impact our community through Our 4 C’s of a diamond--
Commitment to
our mission,
Connection to each other, our Community impact and the Clarity of our mission that we have
to get the job done.

1. Commitment to our mission:
Our mission is to honor the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta’s 75 years of community service and active
voluntarism, and to continue promoting community and membership outreach through the active
collaboration between both the Sustaining and Active membership. Additionally, the training our members
receive through their volunteer service with the League enables them to become positive agents of change
in the community within their businesses, schools, and/or other nonprofit work.

2. Connection to each other:
JLCM invites you to play an active role in this dynamic year. Whether you are currently a member or partner,
or seeking to become one, JLCM would be delighted to hear from you. Please feel welcome to contact us
at 770-422-5266 for any information that we may provide.

3. Community impact:
The impact our organization makes is possible because of the many active and trained volunteer leaders
who give approximately 70-100 hours of service on an annual basis on behalf of The Junior League of
Cobb-Marietta. Our members are dedicated, professional and well-educated women who expertly manage
the many demands on their valuable time with over 60% of them being employed outside the home.

4. Clarity to get the job done:
Our organization with its 500 plus membership come together each year to dedicate over 11,570 hours of
external, direct service to the community which equates to a $200,000 investment. Additionally, the league
fundraises for and contributes over $60,000 to benefit JLCM and our community partners each year.

I invite you to join us during our 75th Diamond anniversary and become “A Cut Above The Rest”.
Look for more news and exciting developments surrounding our two largest fundraising events, Mistletoe
Market, October 16-18 2008 at the Cobb Civic Center and our 75th anniversary Diamond Ball to be held in
the Spring of 2009.

Thank you for your interest in The Junior League of Cobb-Marietta.
