Community Projects: Complete 1 community project through the Done in a Day Program.
Fundraisers: Complete a shift or assignments for Mistletoe Market.
Fund Development: $50 requirement: Annual Giving Campaign Donation or purchase fundraiser tickets.
League Publications: Buy or sell 2 cookbooks and bake one double recipe assigned by League Publications.
General Membership Meetings: Attend 5 of 5 General Membership Meetings held September through December, one of which may be Tri-Council Meeting on September 30th. Attendance at December Small Group Meeting counts as 1 General Membership Meeting.
Financial: Provisional Course fee of $50 and Fall 2010 dues of $108, due date August 6th.
The provisional course requires fulfillment of the following additional requirements:
Attendance at the September General Membership Meeting – September 14th
Attendance at all four provisional training sessions held monthly and the Provisional Retreat.
Dates are as follows: Provisional Training – August 21st Provisional Project – September 25th (could change) Meetings – August 31st, October 5th, November 2nd, December 7th Participation in other possible provisional projects. .
PROSPECTIVE MEMBER CRITERIA The Junior League of Cobb-Marietta uses the following criteria for consideration of prospective members:
Must be at least 22 years of age by January 1, 2010.
Reside or work within a 30 mile radius of Cobb County.
Demonstrate an interest in voluntarism.
Have a commitment to community service.
Show an interest in developing potential for voluntary community participation.
Sign a contract stating that the applicant understands the responsibilities of provisional membership.
ACTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES Following one year of completion of provisional requirements, members’ status become “active” and the responsibilities for each fiscal year are as follows:
Annual dues of $108, due by the April General Membership Meeting date
Community Projects: Complete 1 community project through the Done In A DayProgram. Sign ups are available at General Membership Meetings OR Complete 1 partial placement.
Fundraisers: Mistletoe Market: Sell/Purchase $40 of tickets, paid by last day of Market and work 1 four hour shift. Marietta Mardi Gras Run: Work one shift up to four hours.
Fund Development: Contribute $50 to the Annual Giving Campaign by March 31 or purchase one Spring Fundraiser ticket at least one week prior to the event.
League Publications: Buy or sell 2 cookbooks OR bake one double recipe assigned by League Publications OR host a cookbook party.
Annual Placement: 72 Hours of Volunteer Service within placement either “in-league” or in the community.
General Membership Meetings: Attend 5 of 9 Membership Meetings held during the fiscal year. (Tri-Council Meeting or Spring Fundraiser can count toward 1 meeting credit.
